Discover Digital Gaming Worlds: Gaming for Children Aged 8 and Up
Grab a controller, turn on your curiosity, and explore new gaming worlds together: On Thursday, November 5, 2026, the Freiburg City Library invites children aged 8 and up to a free gaming afternoon. In the Children and Youth Library, young visitors can try out Nintendo Switch and PS4 games while enjoying a varied time together.
30 Minutes of Fun and Discovery
From 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, digital games will be the focus. Children can test selected Nintendo Switch and PS4 games for 30 minutes each. Joy, amazement, and independent exploration create a family-friendly experience where various gaming ideas are learned.
Gaming as a Child-Friendly Learning Experience
Digital gaming combines entertainment with important learning experiences. Children train attention, skill, and reaction time while developing their own impressions of different gaming worlds. In the familiar environment of the library, gaming becomes a modern approach to media literacy, learning fun, and interaction.
Weather-Independent and Accessible
The event takes place indoors at the City Library, providing a weather-independent leisure offering for families. The venue at Münsterplatz 17 is accessible according to DIN 18040. Admission is free, and no registration is required.
Conclusion: Play Together and Discover New Things
Families can look forward to an uncomplicated afternoon filled with children's laughter, concentration, and digital discoveries. Children aged 8 and up can try out Nintendo Switch and PS4 and experience the library as a vibrant place for learning and leisure.
