The famous tourist spot in the Black Forest, Villingen, delights with its beautiful old town, which radiates a special charm through its many historically valuable buildings. Between medieval gates, lovingly restored half-timbered houses, and small, winding alleys, you can feel the city's history at every turn. Every glance reveals a new detail, whether it's an artistically decorated house, a quiet courtyard, or an impressive church facade. Particularly impressive is how harmoniously tradition and vibrant city culture intertwine. Small cafés, local shops, and cozy squares invite you to take your time and soak in the atmosphere. At the same time, the tourist information ensures that visitors are well-informed: maps, walking paths, tips for tours and events, everything is conveyed in a friendly, competent manner with palpable enthusiasm for the city. Villingen presents itself as a place where you immediately feel welcome and is convincing with its historical heritage as well as its warm-hearted aura. Anyone looking to experience a charming, culturally rich, and simultaneously relaxed old town will definitely find it here.

The tourist information staff member is great - she has all the knowledge and materials ready right away. I can only recommend the attached regional museum. It vividly shows the everyday life of people in the Black Forest as well as the history of the city. Entire rooms are even modeled after the 19th century in the Black Forest! The older staff member there should also be mentioned, as she helps you out in a friendly manner!

It is located in the entrance area of the Franciscan Museum. Here you can get city maps of the twin city and information, and you can make bookings. A city tour, provided by the tourist info in Villingen or Schwenningen, is highly recommended. Our tour guide in her beautiful Villingen costume let us experience her district Villingen fascinatingly despite the heat - buildings, gates and towers, customs, city history - also from Schwenningen - and present on a cozy walk (at 34° Celsius on July 24, 2019). No one knows the area better, and wishes and questions are gladly and competently answered!
