Jazzhaus Freiburg | Program & Tickets 2026

The Jazzhaus Freiburg is much more than just a club with a good name. The location at Schnewlinstraße 1 is a historic vaulted cellar in the former Weinschlössle and has been one of the defining cultural addresses of the city since 1987. What began as a converted wine storage has developed into an established live stage over the past decades, where regional, national, and international artists perform. The official representation describes the house as one of the most renowned live music venues in Germany; at the same time, the website points to more than 200 concerts and club nights per year. For Freiburg research, the Jazzhaus is therefore a particularly strong location: central, atmospheric, tradition-rich, and surprisingly versatile. Program, today and tickets at Jazzhaus Freiburg

The most important search terms related to Jazzhaus Freiburg clearly revolve around program, today, tonight, tickets, and events. This search behavior is also reflected on the website. The homepage continuously displays updated dates, and the program pages immediately make it clear that the Jazzhaus is not just a place for jazz, but a broadly positioned cultural and club location with concerts, club nights, comedy, choirs, and parties. For the current period around June 2026, the website lists, among others, Liedfett, Jazzhaus Singalong, I Love 80s, Hazmat Modine, Y2K, Comedy Night, AUDIO88 & YASSIN, and ABBA Super Trouper Summer Special. Thus, the house is exactly the type of location that should be frequently found in search queries for the daily program. ([jazzhaus.de](https://www.jazzhaus.de/index.html?utm_source=openai))

For ticket inquiries, the official service page is the most important source. It states that vouchers and tickets for concerts organized by Jazzhaus Freiburg are available through the house's webshop or via Reservix. The individual event pages also separately list advance sales and box office, which is very practical for those searching for jazzhaus freiburg tickets. Some dates are announced as standing room, others with seating and free choice of seats, so the ticket logic can vary from event to event. Therefore, those searching for jazzhaus freiburg today or jazzhaus freiburg tonight should always check the current program page first, as the times, ticket categories, and seating arrangements depend directly on the respective event. It is also particularly important to note from the city and tourism page that tickets for popular evenings can sell out quickly. Parking and access to Jazzhaus Freiburg

Access to Jazzhaus Freiburg is relatively easy thanks to its central location, but especially regarding parking, a closer look is worthwhile. The address is Schnewlinstraße 1, 79098 Freiburg im Breisgau. The Freiburg Convention Bureau places the location very close to important traffic hubs: The main train station is approximately 0.1 kilometers away, the nearest bus stop is also about 0.1 kilometers, the tram is around 0.2 kilometers, and the city center or old town is about 0.5 kilometers away. These values show that the Jazzhaus is in an area that can be easily reached on foot, by bike, or by public transport. For visitors searching for jazzhaus freiburg parking, this central position is an important indication: The location is so close to the city that public transport is often the most convenient option. ([meeting.freiburg.de](https://meeting.freiburg.de/convention-freiburg/congress/house/Jazzhaus-Freiburg-FIT00020070744804734?utm_source=openai))

When it comes to actual parking, the situation is limited. The Freiburg Convention Bureau mentions only two car parking spaces outside or a total of two car parking spaces for the Jazzhaus. This clearly indicates that the location is not designed as a mass parking lot for cars. Additionally, municipal documents assign Schnewlinstraße to the inner-city parking fee zone, which confirms the usual city center situation. Therefore, those arriving by car should not expect many on-site parking spaces but rather consider the surrounding public parking garages in the city center. For SEO and user perspective, the correct answer is therefore not a single parking garage as absolute truth, but a realistic recommendation: arrive early, check public parking garages in the center, and if possible, use public transport. This way, the search for jazzhaus freiburg parking is answered cleanly and honestly. History and special features of Jazzhaus Freiburg

The special effect of Jazzhaus Freiburg begins with its history. According to the official description, the unique vaulted cellar has developed into a renowned live music location since its renovation in 1987. The house is described as a former wine storage, embedded in the historic Weinschlössle and right in the heart of the old town. This combination of historic space, urban location, and cultural continuity makes the Jazzhaus a place with recognition value. It is not an interchangeable event hall, but a location with a developed identity that is suitable for both intimate club nights and larger cultural evenings. The tourism page of Freiburg additionally emphasizes the intimate atmosphere and good acoustics of the house. For search queries with historical or emotional components, this is a decisive advantage. ([jazzhaus.de](https://www.jazzhaus.de/service.html?utm_source=openai))

The awards and the list of performing artists also underscore the reputation of the house. The Jazzhaus has been awarded the APPLAUS venue award multiple times, specifically in 2013, 2018, 2019/20, 2021, and 2022. The official and tourism pages also mention names like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nelly Furtado, and Miles Davis, which illustrates the international significance of the place. In practice, this means: Those searching online for jazzhaus freiburg events or jazzhaus freiburg concerts do not end up at just any club, but at a house with a clear cultural brand. This mix of tradition, quality, and diversity is the core of the location and explains why the program appeals to so many different target groups over decades. ([jazzhaus.de](https://www.jazzhaus.de/ueber-uns.html?utm_source=openai))

Capacity, rooms, and equipment at Jazzhaus Freiburg

For event planners, agencies, and guests, the room logic of Jazzhaus Freiburg is particularly interesting. The Freiburg Convention Bureau describes the house as a historical, timeless event location with a space of around 300 square meters. The maximum capacity is stated to be 400 people in the entire house and in the largest room; with row seating, up to 200 people are mentioned. Additionally, the dataset lists a room height of three meters, a piano inventory, a net exhibition area of 300 square meters, and a single main hall. This is a clear size for an inner-city cultural location: large enough for relevant events, but still small enough to create closeness between stage and audience. ([meeting.freiburg.de](https://meeting.freiburg.de/convention-freiburg/congress/house/Jazzhaus-Freiburg-FIT00020070744804734?utm_source=openai))

The equipment is also described in a practical manner. The house catering mainly refers to drinks, while food can be provided by an external caterer; a kitchen is not available. For event use, the Jazzhaus is listed as suitable for weddings, evening events, concerts, meetings, panel discussions, private celebrations, training, seminars, Christmas parties, and workshops. This variety is important for SEO because the search for a location is often shaped not only musically but also organizationally. The Jazzhaus is thus not just a concert venue but a true multipurpose space with a cultural profile. The combination of historical character, clear capacity, and flexible use results in a strong position in the Freiburg market. For search queries like jazzhaus freiburg program 2026 or jazzhaus freiburg events, this is exactly the kind of information users expect in the results. ([meeting.freiburg.de](https://meeting.freiburg.de/convention-freiburg/congress/house/Jazzhaus-Freiburg-FIT00020070744804734?utm_source=openai))

Concerts, club nights, and formats like singalong or 80s party

The Jazzhaus Freiburg thrives on its broad program. The official website shows a mix of jazz, pop, rock, world music, comedy, choir projects, and club formats. This is particularly relevant for keyword analysis because the search is not only for jazzhaus freiburg program but also for specific formats like jazzhaus freiburg singalong or jazzhaus freiburg 80s party. The Jazzhaus Singalong with Cécile Verny and Christian Gutfleisch explicitly incorporates singing into the concept: The format combines old and new hits in several languages and invites people of all ages and experience levels to sing together. This creates a very distinctive mix of concert, participatory event, and social experience. ([jazzhaus.de](https://www.jazzhaus.de/programm/2026-01-24-jazzhaus-singalong-5668.html?utm_source=openai))

The party formats are also clearly recognizable. I Love 80s is described on the event page as a danceable, colorful 80s night with influences from New Wave, disco, rock, Neue Deutsche Welle, soul, and hip-hop. Other formats like Connected, Y2K, Disco No.1, Wilde Herzen, or ABBA Super Trouper Summer Special show that the house is also relevant for party and nostalgia searches. At the same time, the website makes it clear that the Jazzhaus demands respectful interaction and consistently sanctions discriminatory behavior. For the user perspective, this is important because the location is positioned not only as entertaining but also as consciously responsible. Therefore, those searching for jazzhaus freiburg tonight will find not just any party, but a curated mix of music style, target audience, and awareness culture. ([jazzhaus.de](https://www.jazzhaus.de/programm/2026-02-13-i-love-80s-5577.html?utm_source=openai))

Accessibility, opening hours, age rules, and service

For many visitors, practical details are at least as important as the program. According to tourism and event portal pages, Jazzhaus Freiburg is accessible; an elevator for wheelchair users and a barrier-free toilet are mentioned, and the venue is also classified as barrier-free according to DIN 18040. This information is not spectacular but extremely relevant for search queries related to accessible venue, barrier-free concert, or jazzhaus freiburg opening hours. Those arriving with a wheelchair, stroller, or limited mobility receive clear guidance. Equally important is the contact option via phone and email, which is provided on the service page. For lost items, a message to the official email address is explicitly mentioned. ([visit.freiburg.de](https://visit.freiburg.de/en/attractions/jazzhaus-jazz-house?utm_source=openai))

Regarding age rules, the house is very specific. For concert visits: generally allowed from six years, between six and fourteen years only when accompanied by a guardian or authorized person, and between fourteen and eighteen years until midnight also without an authorized person. Parties, however, are not permitted for minors, even not with a parental consent form or when accompanied by parents. This is an important service point for parents and a good building block for the keyword question regarding opening hours, today, and tonight, since no general, daily valid opening hours are mentioned on the public website. Instead, the respective event times determine actual access. Therefore, anyone making specific plans should always check the program page and contact directly if needed. This keeps the information honest, current, and practical. ([jazzhaus.de](https://www.jazzhaus.de/service.html?utm_source=openai))

Went to the 80’s party. Music was good and the place is really nice. Another plus is that you can’t smoke. Drink prices are also good.

Good Location, but the parties are not good unless you are older than 30 and want to listen nonstop to 90s songs and German pop-icons with bad transitions in between. Friendly employees and well organized service.

One of the best places for live music or dancing in Freiburg. Mixed crowd. Sadly "summer of love" doesn't happen anymore. "In the mix" is hit or miss, however still a great atmosphere.

Went to see a Talco concert and loved it, only caveat is that they sold more tickets than they had wardrobe space so we couldn't stash our jackets and had to throw them in a corner, not a real problem but annoying as we missed the entire pre-band while waiting just to be told that the wardrobe was full...

This club was smaller than I'd expected but it was not too packed and with quite the danceable playlist. Also the door is quite open and doesn't have those ridiculous rules.
