Discover the Fascinating World of Mushrooms in the Freiburg City Forest
On October 2, 2026, WaldHaus Freiburg invites you to a guided mushroom excursion in the adjacent city forest. Amidst autumnal forest scenery, damp moss, and the scent of leaves, an intense nature and discovery experience opens up for all who want to learn more about the mysterious world of mushrooms.
Experience Fungi and Understand Local Nature
The three-hour city forest excursion is dedicated to the diversity of fungi, that is, the mushroom occurrences in the region. Participants will learn important facts about the lifestyle of mushrooms, their ecological significance, and their role in the forest ecosystems. The event combines nature observation with illustrative specialist knowledge and a cultural enrichment for visitors and locals of Freiburg.
Guided Mushroom Hike with Expert Guidance
The speaker is Olya Betermieux, a mushroom expert from the German Society for Mycology. During the guided mushroom hike, the discovered specimens will be discussed in detail. The excursion thus provides a well-founded insight into the identification and lifestyle of mushrooms, without focusing on the targeted collection of edible mushrooms.
Autumnal Forest Atmosphere at WaldHaus Freiburg
The adjoining city forest provides the right setting for a natural discovery tour. Amongst old trees, forest paths, and hidden growing mushrooms, an authentic atmosphere is created where ecological relationships become directly tangible. WaldHaus Freiburg serves as the starting point for an informative morning in the green.
Conclusion: Nature Knowledge, Discovery, and Sustainable Forest Encounter
The mushroom excursion combines local nature knowledge, expert guidance, and autumnal forest atmosphere into a special discovery experience in Freiburg. Those who want to better understand the diversity of mushrooms and experience the city forest with a sharpened perspective will find an educational city tour through nature here. Registration with WaldHaus Freiburg is recommended.
