EHC Freiburg against EV Landshut: Ice hockey excitement under the Freiburg floodlights
On Friday, October 2, 2026, EHC Freiburg welcomes EV Landshut for a DEL2 home game at the Echte Helden Arena. The first puck drops at 7:30 PM, with entry starting at 6:30 PM. The stands promise an intense stadium atmosphere with fan chants, audience noise, and game field tension.
Freiburg wants to take advantage of home ground
Four points are on the board for the Wolves after the first two DEL2 weekends. Against the previously unbeaten Kassel Huskies, Freiburg fought for a point but only lost in a penalty shootout, 1:2. The match against the Memmingen Indians remained open for a long time before two late goals after the empty-netter sealed a 0:3 defeat.
EV Landshut with offensive quality
EV Landshut travels with a dangerous offense and clear ambitions to Freiburg. In the first few season games, the team showed fluctuating results but repeatedly demonstrated its firepower. Particularly the number of allowed shots on goal comes into focus: Landshut is one of the teams that often puts their opponents under pressure while also allowing many shots themselves.
Tactics, pressing, and duels along the boards
The duel promises a fast gameplay system with high tempo in the transition moments. Freiburg needs compact formations, clean first passes, and consistent forechecking to disrupt EVL's build-up play early. In contrast, Landshut relies on offensive presence, shot volume, and pressure in the zone. Key factors will be the work in front of the goal, behavior in the slot, and the special teams.
Ice hockey evening in the Echte Helden Arena
The Echte Helden Arena provides the perfect setting for an energy-filled DEL2 evening. Floodlights, skates on the ice, hard checks, and proximity to the playing field make the live experience appealing. The weather-independent stadium combines sporting intensity with a focused home game atmosphere.
Conclusion: This duel must be experienced live
When EHC Freiburg and EV Landshut fight for important points, every duel determines the next goal chance. Fans experience DEL2 ice hockey with speed, tactics, and emotions.
