Basketball excitement at Uni-Dome: Eagles Freiburg host ALBA Berlin

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, a thrilling duel of the 1. DBBL will take place at the Freiburg Uni-Dome. At 16:00, the Eagles USC Freiburg will face ALBA Berlin. Fourth against fifth: Both table neighbors bring their own strengths, clear ambitions, and plenty of excitement to the court.

Two teams, a close duel at eye level

Freiburg started the season with wins against Herner TC and Nördlingen Angels, but had to concede to Saarlouis Royals in the meantime. ALBA Berlin lost to runner-up Marburg but subsequently secured a clear victory against Herne and Saarlouis. The situation promises a tactically tight DBBL game.

Statistics promise an intense 40 minutes

In the season statistics, both teams are closely matched. Freiburg averages 72.0 points, while ALBA has 71.3. In assists, Freiburg leads with 19.7 to 18.7, and the Eagles are also ahead in efficiency with 88.3 compared to 82.0. Particularly under the boards, Freiburg has an advantage: 46.0 rebounds per game compared to 34.7 for ALBA. Berlin, however, excels in shooting percentage and steals.

National players and familiar faces in focus

In the direct duel, ALBA's top scorer Alina Hartmann and Freiburg's captain Britta Daub face off as two in-form national players. The matchup between rookie Fredi Askamp and ALBA newcomer Mia Wiegand also promises intense one-on-one scenes.

Additional emotions come from the return of Xara Eich. The Berlin native played for the Eagles in the 2. DBBL for the past two seasons and frequently participated in the first team. Now she returns with ALBA to her former workplace.

Tactics, formation, and high tempo

Both coaches rely on a wide rotation. Stefan Möller for the Eagles and Cristo Cabrera for ALBA consistently distribute playing time and seek the right rhythm through frequent changes. The intensity in pressing, the control of the defense, and the question of which team can better convert their rebounding strength into second chances will be decisive.

Stadium atmosphere with DJ, drummers, and livestream

A special basketball atmosphere awaits at the Uni-Dome. DJ, mascot Birdie, drummers, and the club's youth teams create crowd noise and fan chants. The hall is set to shake as Freiburg and Berlin battle for crucial points. Those who can't be there in person can follow the game via livestream.
