Service for Survivors After Suicide: Space for Grief, Remembrance, and Hope
When a person dies by suicide, deep grief, unanswered questions, and a special silence often remain. The service at the Evangelical Johanneskirche in Merzhausen invites survivors to a protected faith experience where pain, memory, and hope can find their place.
Together Through Grief
In the peaceful atmosphere of the church, space is created for reflection, prayer, and personal remembrance. The service is aimed at people who have lost a relative, friend, or loved one to suicide. The religious celebration combines pastoral care with the strengthening feeling of a spiritual community.
Liturgy and Personal Remembrance
A service for survivors sensitively addresses the particular situation following a suicide. Words, silence, and liturgical elements can help give expression to grief and honor the deceased person with dignity. This creates a space of faith that respects different personal paths, questions, and feelings.
Organized by the Working Group Life Freiburg
The Working Group Life Freiburg supports people in life crises and is committed to suicide prevention and the support of survivors. Together with the Community Psychiatric Network Freiburg, the event invites participants to a religious experience that offers comfort, connectedness, and pastoral attention.
