Art Bots in Freiburg: When small robots become artists

In the small Digital Workshop Art Bots, the Mediothek Rieselfeld will be transformed into a creative tinkering workshop on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Children from the age of eight will build their own little art robot with the Experinauts, design it in colorful and imaginative ways, and bring it to life with self-made circuits.

Creative tinkering with circuits

Step by step, an individual Art Bot will be created from simple materials. Programming skills are not required. The focus is on playful exploration, practical experimentation, and the joy of creating technology on your own. The event combines digital education with crafting fun and age-appropriate media competence.

Robots leave shared artistic traces

After construction, the little machines will show what they can do: On large sheets of paper, they will leave their traces and together create a huge doodle art piece. Colorful patterns, surprising movements, and a visible community experience will emerge. The audience's mood will thrive on curious observation, experimentation, and mutual wonder.

A workshop for curious children

The event experience is aimed at children from the age of eight who are interested in technology, art, and creative experiments. The Experinauts focus on age-appropriate communication and make access to circuits and robotics immediately tangible. Important for event planning: The workshop is free of charge, takes place without registration, and has limited spots available.

Conclusion: Technology, imagination, and visible results

Art Bots connects crafting, experimenting, and joint creation into a special family and educational experience. Those who want to see how moving art is created from circuits should arrive on time at the Mediothek Rieselfeld and let their own little robot dance live on paper.
