Day of Education in Freiburg: Discover Professions, Shape the Future
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the city of Freiburg invites you to the Day of Education at the Square of the Old Synagogue. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., students, young people, parents, and other interested parties will receive a direct insight into more than 40 training professions and study programs of the city administration and municipal companies.
Get to know diverse fields of work live
The event makes professional opportunities visible and connects information with personal exchange. Among other things, activities as a forestry worker, drafter, carpenter, educator, media designer, make-up artist, and business informatics specialist will be presented.
Practical insights and personal conversations
Apprentices and students, together with their trainers, will share stories from their professional lives. The various booths provide opportunities to learn about job fields, ask questions, and connect personal interests with specific training paths or dual study programs. Information on volunteer services is also part of the program.
City administration and municipal companies
In addition to the city of Freiburg, participants include waste management and street cleaning in Freiburg, Freiburg city construction, Freiburg Economic Tourism and Fair, and Freiburg Transport AG. This creates a broad panorama of municipal professions – from creative and social activities to technical, organizational, and digital tasks.
Conclusion: Orientation for the next step
The Day of Education offers compact and practical orientation for all who wish to actively shape their professional future. Those who want to learn about training professions, dual study programs, and volunteer services not just from brochures, but in personal conversations, will find numerous direct contacts at the Square of the Old Synagogue.
