Adventure, Creativity, and Children's Laughter at the Adventure Playground

On the Open Program on October 1, 2026, children and teenagers aged 6 to 14 discover the Weingarten Adventure Playground as a vibrant place for shared time, movement, and learning fun. From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the family experience combines free play with age-appropriate offerings centered around building, creating, cooking, and interacting with animals.

Join in, try out, and implement your own ideas

The open concept gives children the space to pursue their own interests and discover new skills. Visible results emerge from crafting, building, and cooking, while joint planning and experimentation strengthen social development, independence, and creative thinking. The changing offerings are appropriately designed for different age groups within the target audience.

Experience nature and get to know animals

At the adventure playground, experiences with nature and animal contact are part of the educational concept. Children can explore the outdoor area and gain insights into handling horses, chickens, and goats. Such immediate experiences promote curiosity, a sense of responsibility, and mindful awareness of the environment.

Learn safely with head, heart, and hands

The program is part of the Open Children's and Youth Work of the City of Freiburg. Experiential educational offerings, practical activities, and supervised events create an environment where children can safely gather experiences. When handling tools, wood, and animals, age-appropriate guidance, attention, and responsible interaction are the focus.

An afternoon full of possibilities

Whether building, creating, playing, or observing animals: The Open Program invites children to actively and independently shape their afternoon. Families experience a nature-oriented meeting point with children's laughter, movement, and a sense of community. The offering is free of charge and designed without a traditional course format.

Conclusion: The Open Program at the Weingarten Adventure Playground provides children aged 6 to 14 with a varied afternoon of creativity, nature, and real shared time. Those who enjoy practical learning experiences and a lively family experience should mark the date directly in their calendars.
