Fun and Digital Adventures in the Freiburg Children's and Youth Library
On Thursday, October 29, 2026, the city library main branch will be the meeting point for young gaming fans. Children aged 8 and above can try out Nintendo Switch and PS4 games and experience a varied digital learning experience together.
30 Minutes Full of Play, Excitement, and Curiosity
In 30-minute sessions, children will discover various console games, test their skills, and gain new or initial experiences with digital game worlds. Joy, focus, and shared experiences are at the center of this activity. Children's laughter, exciting challenges, and curious experimentation make the library visit a special family experience.
Age-Appropriate and Child-Friendly Design
The offering is aimed at children aged 8 and above. The limited playing time creates an age-appropriate framework, allowing many children to familiarize themselves with different games. Gaming thus becomes a conscious learning experience, where attention, responsiveness, and fair interaction with others play an important role.
Library as a Place for Media Competence
The Freiburg City Library connects reading, education, digital topics, and communal experiences. The gaming offering complements the media work of the library and provides children with a child-friendly access to digital games. Families receive a safe and weather-independent place where time together, learning fun, and media competence come together.
Well Accessible and Weather Independent
The event will take place at the city library at Münsterplatz 17. The venue is accessible according to DIN 18040 standards. The Bertoldsbrunnen and Europaplatz stops are nearby, making the children's and youth library easily reachable by public transport.
Conclusion: A Free Family Experience for Gaming Fans
Look forward to a varied gaming time with Nintendo Switch and PS4 at the Freiburg City Library. Children aged 8 and above can try out new games for free and without registration, discover digital skills, and spend an exciting time together.
