International Tape Art Between Installation and Abstraction

The TAPE ART CONVENTION 2026 in Freiburg is dedicated to an unusual and versatile artistic material: adhesive tape. International artists showcase how tape can create independent works of art, expansive installations, as well as abstract and figurative pieces.

The exhibition makes visible how adaptable adhesive tape is as a creative medium. Lines, surfaces, colors, and structures are developed directly on surfaces, transforming the exhibition space into a unique visual experience. Different artistic styles and forms of expression come together. Visitors can discover both large-format installations and individual works that play with shapes, motifs, and spatial effects.
