The drawing workshop “Architectural Sketches Around the Augustinermuseum” invites you to a concentrated art experience in the heart of Freiburg. On Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Augustinermuseum transforms into a place of artistic observation that makes lines, proportions, and spatial effects visible.

From the Cloister to the Sculpture Hall

Guided by art educator Annelie Möller, participants will explore the architecture of the building through drawing. The focus will be on the cloister and the sculpture hall; depending on the weather, the facade and inner courtyards may also be included. This creates an immediate aesthetic experience between the historical structure, light direction, and precise observation.

Drawing as Access to Museum Culture

The workshop combines artistic practice with cultural education. Anyone sketching architectural structures sees differently: cornices, arches, perspectives, and sequences of space are not only observed but understood in their own drawing process. Especially in the Augustinermuseum, which is equally shaped by history and the present, drawing becomes a means of approaching the art of the place.

Materials, Location, and Process

Materials will be provided, allowing the focus to be entirely on observation and creation. The meeting point is in the cloister of the Augustinermuseum. The event is designed to be weather-independent and barrier-free according to DIN 18040. The ticket costs 15 euros and is available in the online shop and at the museum ticket office.
