Organ Sounds in the Historic Augustinermuseum
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Augustinermuseum in Freiburg will transform into an atmospheric concert venue for half an hour. Emanuelle Lerch from the Freiburg University of Music will perform selected pieces on the historic Welte organ, blending musical precision with the unique atmosphere of the former monastery.
The Welte Organ as a Sounding Exhibition Object
At the center is the largest exhibition object of the Augustinermuseum: the Welte organ. Its sound enters into an intriguing dialogue with the architecture, artworks, and the centuries-old history of the building. The organ music makes music history immediately tangible and illustrates how closely instrument, space, and acoustics are interconnected.
Live Atmosphere between Art and Sound
When Emanuelle Lerch plays the selected works, a concentrated concert experience emerges in the middle of the museum. The orchestration of the organ unfolds in colorful sound layers, while resonance and reverberation make the historical environment a part of the stage performance. For music enthusiasts, it offers an intense insight into the musical potential of the Welte organ.
A Musical Lunch in Freiburg
The event begins at 12:00 PM and lasts around 30 minutes. The limited number of participants creates an immediate setting with a short distance between the audience and the instrument. The meeting point is directly at the Welte organ. Tickets are available online and at the museum ticket counter.

Organ music at the Augustinermuseum promises a sensory interplay of historic space, selected works, and impressive sound. Those wishing to discover Freiburg's cultural life from a special perspective will experience a concentrated concert format between museum, music history, and live atmosphere.
